About Annette

Annette has been described as "a gifted and hard working singer, whose ambition is matched by her talent."

She was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii, where she began her operatic career. She sang in the Hawaii Opera Theater chorus and took part in the University of Hawaii's opera workshop, learning the part of Gretel in Hansel and Gretel.

Annette moved to Oregon where she performed as a soloist with the Linn-Benton Chorale and Lane Chamber Choir and Orchestra. Her performances included Handel's Messiah, Brahms' A German Requiem, and Schubert's Mass in G Major. She also performed numerous roles with both the Portland and Eugene Operas, including:

Penashe/First Spirit in An American Magic Flute
Pamina in The Magic Flute
Angelina in Trial by Jury
Angel City Four Soprano in City of Angels

Prior to relocating to North Carolina, Annette lived in the New York area for ten years, where she maintained a teaching studio. While there she revised her role as Gretel in Hansel and Gretel, was featured as a lead in an original production, Too Many Sopranos, and performed multiple solos as part of the FTT Performance Series.

She is a Performing Member of the Professional Women Singers Association, and a member of the Actors' Equity Association, American Guild of Musical Artists, the National Association of Teachers of Singing, and the North Carolina Music Teachers' Association. She is a former member of the North Carolina Master Chorale and currently performs with the North Carolina Opera. Annette and her husband own and operate Signature Music Studio in Fuquay-Varina, and she is the Artistic Director of a Classical Concert Series at the Halle Cultural Arts Center in historic downtown Apex.
